Trojans' Coach Wins Father-Son Championship

La Jolla, Calif. -- USC men's tennis head coach Dick Leach participated in the 41st Annual National Hardcourt Father and Son Championships last week (Dec. 3-5) at the La Jolla (Calif.) Beach and Tennis Club. He, and son Rick Leach, earned the 1999 title by defeating Anand and Stephen Amritraj, 6-2, 6-3.
The victory marks the 11th title Leach has earned in the father-son tournament, making him the winningest father in tournament history. Rick, a four-year USC All-American who currently plays professionally, and his father have won six titles together. Leach and his youngest son Jon, also a four-time USC All-American, have garnered five wins at the tournament.
