EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 10-ranked USC men's tennis team defeated Oregon, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Ore. With the win, the Trojans improve to 17-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Ducks drop 12-8 and 0-5 in the Pac-10.
After the Trojans swept through doubles play with three identical 8-4 wins to take a 1-0 lead, Oregon began to challenge.
The Ducks won at the top three singles slots, against USC's No. 33 Andrew Park, No. 110 Ryan Moore and #54 Nick Rainey. Oregon's Oded Teig defeated Park 6-2, 6-3, Manuel Kost beat Moore, 7-5, 6-4, and Sven Swinnen ended the match with a win over Rainey, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.
