ACAPULCO, Mexico - The USC men's tennis team enjoyed four days in Acapulco, Mexico, last week while competing in the Mayan Palace Invitational. The non-counting tournament featured players from Georgia and USC and was played Oct. 28-Oct. 31.
The Trojans captured two wins against the Bulldogs. No. 39 Johan Berg easily got past Ricardo Gonzalez, 6-3, 6-3, and 60th-ranked John Isner fell to the Trojans' No. 83 Drew Hoskins 7-5 in the first set before withdrawing due to injury.
Adam Loucks, Aaron Badart and Brian Wright each dropped in straight sets, while freshman Kaes Van't Hof pushed Strahinia Bobusic to a third set before falling 10-6 in the tiebreaker.
Up next, the Trojans will compete at the SCTA Championships, Nov. 4-7, at the Los Angeles Tennis Club.
