Notes
USC wins its sixth in a row over UCLA and improves to 40-27-7
Matches its best start ever (12-0), tying the 1972 national championship team that went 12-0.
Extends its win streak to 21 games (second longest in the nation to Boise State's 22), the longest at USC since a school- and Pac-10-record 25 consecutive from 1931-33.
Extends its Pac-10 win streak to 15 and its Pac-10 road game win streak to nine.
Extends Pete Carroll's record in the second half of seasons to 22-2 (not counting 2-1 in bowls).
Ryan Killeen's five field goals are a career high and set a school record. It broke the previous mark of four shared by Steve Jordan (1983 against Cal and 1984 against Oregon), Quin Rodriguez (1987 vs. Arizona) and, most recently, by Adam Abrams (1998 vs. Oregon State).
Lofa Tatupu's fourth-quarter interception was his third of the season, seventh of his career.
With Reggie Bush's TDs, Bush or LenDale White has now scored at least one TD in every game this season. They have combined for 52 TDs in the last 25 games.
USC scored at least 20 points for the 38th game in a row, extending a school record;
USC TB LenDale White improved his team-high rushing totals to 985 yards the most in a season at Troy since Sultan McCullough rushed for 1,163 in 2000.
Reggie Bush Notes
His 204 rushing yards are a career high, his second career game with over 100 yards rushing and the most rushing yards for a Trojan since Shawn Walters ran for 234 yard (Oct. 15, 1994 at Stanford). It is the 38th time in school history that a USC rusher has gained 200 or more yards in a game.
His 81-yard TD run in the second quarter is a career high and the longest run from scrimmage for USC since LaVale Woods' 96-yard TD run against Oregon State at the Coliseum in 1996.
His 65-yard TD run on USC's opening possession is the third-longest rush of his career (behind the 81-yarder in the second quarter and a 66-yard TD run at BYU earlier this season). Including his 69-yard TD reception against Notre Dame last week, Bush has had four plays from scrimmage this year of 65 or more yards.
Bush's first TD of the game with 14:02 still on the clock in the first quarter was reminiscent of USC's opening possession at the Rose Bowl in 2002 when Carson Palmer hit Kareem Kelly with a 34-yard TD pass 16 seconds into the game on USC's first offensive play (following a UCLA turnover on the opening kickoff).
With 335 all-purpose yards today, Bush increased his 2004 all-purpose yards to 2,181, the most for a Trojan since Marcus Allen had a school-record 2,683 in his 1981 Heisman season.
USC Quarterback Matt Leinart Notes
His 24 completions give him 251 for the season, making him fourth on USC's single season list. The record is 309 (Carson Palmer, 2002).
During USC's 21-game win streak, he has thrown 58 TDs and just 9 interceptions.
He is now 24-1 as a starter.
He has 66 TD passes in his USC career, second behind only Carson Palmer's 72.
