
USC's Farah/Johnson Move Into ITA Semifinals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - USC's junior-freshman doubles duo of Robert Farah and Steven Johnson have claimed another win at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, Va., moving into tomorrow's semifinals against Mississippi's Berg/tenBerge pair.
Today in Virginia, Farah spent a busy day doing double duty with singles and doubles play on his plate. Fifth-seeded Farah grabbed a 6-2, 6-3 win in the singles Round of 16 over Guillermo Gomez of Georgia Tech to move into the afternoon's quarterfinals. There, Farah faced No. 3 seed Daniel Vallverdu of Miami and took the match to three sets before falling 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-1 to bow out of singles play.
In today's doubles quarterfinal, Farah and Johnson took on Auburn-Montgomery pair Johnson/Tucker and pinned up an 8-5 win to move into tomorrow's doubles semifinals.
