USC Doubles Duos Cruise To Round of 16

IRVINE, CALIF. - The USC men's tennis team ensured another busy day in Irvine with a successful push through today's Round of 32 at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships. Three singles players and three Trojan doubles pairs snagged wins to move on and into Round of 16 action tomorrow at UC Irvine.
USC's top-seeded Daniel Nguyen rolled in his Round of 32 singles match today, while Ray Sarmiento and Jaak Poldma gutted out three-setters to punch their tickets through to Round of 16 action tomorrow. Peter Lucassen and JT Sundling, meanwhile, were upended in their singles matches.
On the doubles side, Trojans reigned down the line with all three USC pairs grabbing victories. Tomorrow, Peter Lucassen and Jaak Poldma are on the prowl for a quarterfinal slot, as are fellow Trojans Daniel Nguyen and JT Sundling and No. 2 seeded Steve Johnson and Ray Sarmiento.
