Filipovic And Wilgotsson Named To Pac-10 All-Conference Team

LOS ANGELES - USC juniors Ivana Filipovic and Maria Wilgotsson were selected to the 2011 All-Pac-10 Rowing first team and are among 13 rowers that earned first-team all-conference honors the Pac-10 announced on Thursday (May 26).
It is the first such honor for Filipovic and Wilgotsson who have been integral in the recent success or the Varsity Eight boat and the USC rowing program.
Members of the All-Conference rowing teams are based upon each institution's finish in the varsity eight championship race at the Pac-10 Championships, which were held May 15 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. The conference champion provides four members of the All-Conference team, the Pac-10 second-place crew provides three members and the third-place finisher provides two. All other participating conference crews receive one selection each.
If rowing teams kept head-to-head win-loss records, USC's first varsity eight would be 15-2 so far this year. It finished first out of eight crews at the San Diego Crew Classic (7-0), and defeated Virginia, Michigan State, Clemson and UCLA (4-0).
