USC improves to 9-0 against Colorado. USC scored a series best 56 points and it was the fifth straight game in the series in which the Trojans have scored at least 40 against the Buffaloes.
Jr. Cody Kessler's seven TD passes today broke Matt Barkley's USC record for most in a game. Barkley had six TD passes four times, including once in 2012 here against Colorado. Kessler's five first-half TD passes ties the school record for most in a half, matching Matt Barkley (who did it three times) and Mark Sanchez (who did it once). Kessler's previous high for TD passes was four, three times.
Kessler's 7 TD passes ties a Pac-12 record for most thrown in a regulation game by one QB.
Kessler's 319 yards passing (on 19-of-26 attempts) was the third time he's had at least 300 yards passing this year, fourth for his career.
The seven TD passes ties USC's team record for most TD passes in a game, which came against Colorado in 2012 (6 by Barkley, 1 by Max Wittek).
USC's four 1st quarter TDs were its most in a quarter since four against Cal in the second quarter in 2010.
With 28 points in the 1st quarter today, USC now has outscored the opposition 87-13 in the 1st quarter this season.
Jr. TB Javorius Allen's 128 yards on 15 carries is his 10th career 100-yard rushing game (all within the past 13 games) and his sixth this season. He is the first Trojan to have six 100-yard rushing games in a season since Reggie Bush (8) and LenDale White (6) did it in 2005 (Bush's stats later vacated due to NCAA penalty) ... His 39-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter was his 22nd career rushing score, eighth this year. All 22 career rushing TDs are within the last 15 games.
Fr. WR JuJu Smith's 1st quarter TD catch was the first of his career. He finished with his second 100-yard receiving game (first since season opener) and had 4 catches for 104 yards.
Jr. WR Nelson Agholor's three TD catches today (16-yard and 18-yard in 1st quarter, 75 yards in third) give him a team-best seven this year, 15 for his career. He notched his fourth 100-yard receiving game of his career (first of the season) and finished with 6 receptions for 128 yards.
USC had two receivers (Agholor and Smith) with over 100 yards in the same game for the first time since 2012 when Marqise Lee (157) and Agholor (162) did it against Oregon.
Fr. TE Bryce Dixon's 15-yard and 9-yard TD catches were his second and third of the season and first since the season-opener.
RS Fr. WR Steven Mitchell's 24-yard TD catch in the 3rd quarter - Kessler's record-breaking seventh - was the first of his career, second catch overall this season.
