USC To Compete At Highlander Invitational Saturday

The USC women's cross country team will be back in action this weekend as they compete at the 6th annual Highlander Invitational held at the Ag/Ops Course in Riverside, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 14. The 6K race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to feature teams from 12 schools. The Trojans last competed at the UNLV Invitational on Sept. 23, where they placed fourth.

"We have been working on our race strategy and on how to build intensity throughout the race, said USC cross country coach Patrick Henner. "We would like to be running our strongest in the final 1000m of the race."

Trojans expected to compete in the race on Saturday will be Chloe Berry, Julia Bounds, Jennifer Daly, Amber Gore, Lauren Maurer, Sydney Tullai and Angel Vallier. The Ag/Ops Course is 85 percent flat with a few rolling hills on hard packed dirt.

Trojan fans wanting to lend their support to the team can reach the Ag/Ops Course from the 215/60 freeway, exit Martin Luther King and go West. Turn left at the Canyon Crest traffic light and travel approximately 300 meters to the course entrance on the right. For parking in Lot 30, continue straight on Martin Luther King.
