LA Story: Dashiell Enos
October 06, 2017 | Men's Swimming & Diving, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
Growing up in Los Angeles, USC diver Dashiell Enos felt destined to work in the movie business. Like most other people his age, Enos enjoyed watching movies, but as time went on, he realized how influential they were in his development as a person and an athlete.
"When I look back on my childhood and to recent years I realize how much movies meant to me," Whenever I had a bad practice or was going through a frustrating time, a good movie was able to make me feel happy, inspired, or even just more confident in myself. Films were a nice escape that often eased my mind and also kept me inspired in my diving."
Despite his love for the hustle and bustle of Hollywood, Enos made the decision to move to Indianapolis when he was 12 years to train with diving coach John Wingfield. He stayed there for about six years before finally returning to his hometown and eventually attending USC.
"Now that I'm back in LA training and studying film, I feel like I'm in the place where I want to spend the rest of my life," Enos said. "Film has always been a love of mine, and I've just been learning how to more efficiently and professionally use it as an outlet for my creativity.
