September 21, 2017 | Women's Cross Country, Features
The USC women's cross country team will be in action this weekend at the UNLV Invitational held at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas, Nev. on Sept. 23 at 8 a.m. The teams competing in the 5K race along with USC and host UNLV are Cerritos College, Dixie State, Long Beach State, San Diego State and Utah Valley.
"We are still in the process of learning how to race," said USC cross country coach Patrick Henner. "It's important that we continue to build upon the idea of increasing intensity throughout the race. At the same time we need to learn to be more in control when we get out of our comfort zone."
The seven runners making the trip for USC are Chloe Berry, Julia Bounds, Jennifer Daly, Amber Gore, Lauren Maurer, Madison Ricks and Kamryn Weber. The junior Gore has been USC's top finisher at each of the first two meets this season.
After this weekend, the Trojans will be training until competing at the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, Calif. on Oct. 14.
