SoCal native will join the USC program for the next 2020-21 season.
The USC men's tennis program welcomes another standout to the scene with the signing of Sean Holt to a national letter of intent, head coach Brett Masi announced today (Nov. 13). Holt's brother Brandon is a multiple ITA All-American and a senior at USC currently, so Sean's signing ensures that the Holt lineage carries on in the Trojan Family.Â
"It is awesome to have Sean as a part of the Trojan Family," Masi said of Holt. "He comes from a great line of Trojans and a great tennis family. He is a tremendous doubles player who has dominated the Southern California section and we see him playing a big role in that area when he gets to campus. Fight On!"
The youngest of three Holt brothers — sons of Grand Slam winner Tracy Austin and Scott Holt — Sean has had a decorated prep and junior career as he rounds out his senior year at Palos Verdes High.  Currently holding a UTR rank of 11.84, Holt has won a CIF SoCal doubles title as well as an Ojai doubles championship. Already a SoCal junior sectionals doubles winner, he'll be a top seed for this year's tourney. Along the way, he's ousted many highly rated opponents who are either on their way to or already competing at Division 1 collegiate programs.
"I am honored and humbled to join such a historic tennis program," Holt said. "I look forward to becoming a part of the Trojan family and being a USC student-athlete."
Holt is also an honor student at Palos Verdes High and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He'll officially join the USC roster for the next 2020-21 season, arriving at Troy in fall 2020.
