March 17, 2024 | Men's Tennis
The Trojans finish up the non-conference schedule with a 6-0 loss to the Longhorns
LOS ANGELES – USC men's tennis (5-9) dropped its final non-conference matchup as it fell to No. 9 Texas (12-3) 6-1, on Sunday, Mar. 17 at Marks Tennis Stadium.
The Trojans kept most of their matches close, but were unable to deliver, as they lost all seven finishing matches. The lone match that went unfinished was No. 4 Karl Lee, as he went into the third set with the #51 player in the country. That match would eventually be called, while the sixth point was claimed for the Longhorns.
USC was the closest to a point with Samuel Rubell, who dropped his match in the No. 5 spot 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. Rubell overcame a 3-0 deficit in the third set, and forced an extra game before he would be the second to last person to fall to Texas.
The Trojans head into conference play, as they open their final Pac-12 slate with Arizona at 4 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 22 at Marks Tennis Stadium.
