October 24, 2025 | Men's Golf
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – After the opening round at The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, USC men's golf sits in fifth place, at 6-under-par, 282. Antonio Safa led the way for the Trojans, shooting a 6-under-par 66 and is tied for 2nd place individually.
"We got off to a good start today," said Head Coach Mark Hankins. "We fought through some tough holes and had everyone in the game until the end. It's only round one, and we have two more rounds to stay focused on. Each day is a different condition and a different golf course. We're to continue to adapt."
Safa began his round on Friday morning with back-to-back birdies, eventually making the turn at 2-under-par. He added five more birdies on his back nine, shooting 66 with nine birdies. This score has him in a tie for 2nd, just one shot back of the leader after 18 holes.
"Antonio had a great round today," Hankins said. "He was locked in and continued to press until the final hole."
