Sloane Morra, Peter Makk and Tristan Bradley earn academic accolades.
LOS ANGELES – Three Trojan tennis players were named to the College Sports Communications Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, rounding out a successful year on and off the court for both programs.
CSC recognizes athletes for their work on court and in the classroom. For a student-athlete to qualify, they must hold a sophomore academic and athletic standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and have met certain performance benchmarks.
On the men's team, senior Peter Makk led the way at center court all season for the Trojans, securing All-Big Ten honors while helping USC to a round of 16 finish in the NCAA Team Tournament. Makk secured a career high national rank of No. 16 this season and his first top five victory this season while completing his bachelor's degree in journalism. Makk was an instrumental member of USC's Pac-12 Championship teams in 2022 and 2023. This is Makk's third CSC Academic All-District award. He's previously been recognized as an ITA Scholar Athlete and earned numerous conference academic accolades.
Graduate student Tristan Bradley also secured Academic All-District honors in his first year as a Trojan (transferring from Bowdoin). Bradley was a staple in doubles play this season for USC, playing at center court alongside Makk. Bradley will earn his Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation later this week. This is Bradley's first CSC Academic All-District award.
For the Women of Troy, senior Sloane Morra has been a stalwart performer throughout her career, helping the team to a Pac-12 Tournament final appearance in 2023. Morra was a fixture in doubles play this season, going 13-4 alongside freshman Jana Hossam and clinching USC's Big Ten first round match against Michigan State. Morra will earn her bachelor's degree in public relations later this week. This marks Morra's first CSC Academic All-District award, though Morra has earned countless ITA and conference academic accolades throughout her four years as a Trojan.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
