USC Men’s Tennis Head Coach Brett Masi Receives Contract Extension Through 2028
July 23, 2025 | Men's Tennis
Masi will enter into his seventh season as head coach this fall.
LOS ANGELES – Sixth-year USC men's tennis head coach Brett Masi, who led the 2025 Trojans to an NCAA Super Regional appearance, has signed a contract extension through the 2028 season, Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics Jen Cohen announced today (July 23).
"Being at USC is a privilege," Masi said. "Serving as head coach of such a legendary program is truly an honor." He added, "I'm really pumped with where the program is headed. We have a young group that is excited to lead the charge towards winning National Championship number 22."
This contract extension comes after Masi led the Trojans to the 2025 NCAA Super Regional, upsetting the sixth-seed, San Diego, in the second round of the tournament. He also guided the Trojans to a fourth-place finish during USC's inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference. Masi was largely responsible for recruiting and retaining senior standout Peter Makk, who this season became a unanimous ITA All-American and All-Big Ten First Team selection. Off the court, Masi's program earned ITA All-Academic Team honors, with nearly half of his squad being named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
With Masi at the helm the past six years, USC has reached four NCAA Tournaments and compiled a record of 103-49. He also coached Troy to its fourth-consecutive conference title in 2023.
A former assistant to USC's 2009 NCAA Championship team, Masi returned to Troy as the Trojans' head coach on May 12, 2019. Masi will enter into his seventh season as head coach this fall.
