LOS ANGELES—USC tight end Mark Bowman, wide receiver Trent Mosley and defensive end Luke Wafle have been named Midseason True Freshman All-Americans. Bowman and Wafle were selected by On3/Rivals, 247Sports and The Athletic, while Mosley was tabbed by The Athletic as an all-purpose player.
Bowman, the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder leads all FBS freshman tight ends in targets (28), receptions (21) and yards receiving (204), while ranking second in touchdown catches (2), despite missing the last two games. Before his absence, he averaged 4.2 receptions per game, tied for 12th among all FBS tight ends, and 40.8 receiving yards per game, which ranked 25th. The former five-star recruit had an electric game against Louisiana, catching 6 passes for 83 yards (13.8 avg.) and 2 scores, including a 35-yard reception on which he hurdled two defenders.
Mosley has been one of the most thrilling players in college football in 2026. Through just four games, he has produced 22 catches for 366 yards (16.6 avg.), a team-leading 5 touchdowns and has 158 yards on 5 punt returns (31.6 avg.), including an 86-yard return for a touchdown against Louisiana. After missing three games with an injury, Mosley returned against Penn State to tally 9 receptions for 111 yards (12.3 avg.) and a touchdown, bringing his combined receiving, rushing and punt-return production to 541 yards and 6 scores, averaging 135.3 yards per game. Mosley is No. 3 among all Power Four receivers and No. 2 among Big Ten receivers with a minimum of 30 targets with an offensive grade of 90.5.
Few defensive freshmen have been as disruptive as Wafle, On3/Rivals' No. 1 overall prospect from the 2026 class. He is tied for the most quarterback pressures among FBS freshmen with 16 and leads the Trojans in that category as well. Wafle has recorded a sack in each of the past two games. He has an 11.8% pressure rate and 27 total tackles, including 6 TFLs. Wafle is a strong run defender with the most stops (14) among true freshman edges and defensive linemen, according to Pro Football Focus, while his 8 defensive stuffs—tackles on run plays that result in no gain or a loss of yards—rank second among all FBS freshmen, according to TruMedia. Among all Big Ten defensive ends, Wafle is No. 4 with a 77.7 run defense grade and No. 7 with a 71.6 tackling grade and has only missed two tackles, according to PFF.
Fellow true freshman wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt is also making a major impact in the Trojan offense, earning Honorable Mention True Freshman All-American recognition from 247Sports. He leads USC with 27 receptions for 400 yards, averaging 14.8 yards per catch, with 4 touchdowns, production that has quickly established him as one of the Trojans' most dynamic playmakers.
No. 16 USC travels to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers this weekend. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. CT) on Saturday, Oct. 24. The game will air live on NBC.
