LOS ANGELES—USC wide receiver Trent Mosley has been named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Player of the Week after his performance in USC's 30-18 victory over No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday (Oct. 31).
Mosley recorded 145 all-purpose yards, hauling in five receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown while adding a 44-yard punt return. He averaged 20.2 yards per catch and posted his fourth 100-yard receiving performance in just six games played.
Mosley opened USC's scoring with a career-long 69-yard touchdown reception on USC's second offensive play, marking the Trojans' earliest touchdown since Marqise Lee's opening-play score against Oregon State in 2013. He continued to create opportunities with a 44-yard punt return into Ohio State territory that helped set up USC's second touchdown. Later, his 12-yard reception on third-and-4 extended a drive that ended in a field goal before halftime. Mosley's explosive plays helped power the Trojans to victory and continued his streak of scoring a touchdown in every game he has played at the Coliseum.
