Freshman Branko Djuric earns All-Big Ten First Team honors.
ROSEMONT, Ill. – USC men's tennis placed three student-athletes on the Big Ten postseason honors list, headlined by freshman Branko Djuric's All-Big Ten First Team selection.
Djuric made an immediate impact in his debut season, anchoring the Trojans at the No. 1 singles position throughout the year. The freshman compiled a 6-5 record in Big Ten play, highlighted by wins over two top-ranked opponents, and proved clutch in key moments with two match-clinching victories this spring. He was also a consistent presence in USC's doubles lineup alongside Connor Church. In addition to his First Team honor, Djuric was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team after earning two Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards along with one Big Ten Player of the Week nod this season. He climbed as high as No. 84 in the national singles rankings during the spring.Â
Sophomore Nathan Trouve and freshman Max Exsted each secured All-Big Ten Second Team recognition following standout campaigns. Trouve also earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, recognizing his leadership and contributions both on and off the court.
Trouve posted a strong 6-2 record in conference singles play and went 10-4 at the No. 2 position this spring. He reached a career-high No. 64 in the national singles rankings and climbed to No. 80 in doubles alongside Exsted.
Exsted continued his breakout season by leading the Trojans in dual-match singles wins, compiling a 14-2 overall record, including eight victories in conference singles play this spring. The freshman surged to a career-high No. 67 in the national singles rankings and earned three Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards. He also joined Djuric on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
Djuric, Trouve, Exsted and the rest of the USC's squad begin postseason play this afternoon against No. 5 seed UCLA in the Big Ten Championship Tournament Quarterfinals. The match in Ojai, Calif. will be played at Libbey Park and stream on Big Ten Plus.Â
