USC Beach Volleyball Selected As Fourth Seed In The NCAA Championships

The Women of Troy have competed in the NCAA tournament in all 10 years of its existence.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – No. 5 USC Beach Volleyball has been selected as the fourth seed heading into the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship beginning on Friday, May 1, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Women of Troy will face the 13th seed in Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the Round of 16 beginning at 9 a.m. PT on Friday, May 1. These two teams have never played one another. The Islanders earned the automatic bid from the Southland Conference, defeating Houston Christian in the championship game. They boast a 23-9 record this season.
USC will now compete in all 10 NCAA Championships, winning six of the last nine titles. The Trojans are 32-5 in duals at the NCAA Championship. USC lost twice each in 2018 and 2019 when the tournament was a double-elimination bracket. Its second loss in 2019 was to the eventual champion UCLA in the championship dual. Under seventh-year head coach Dain Blanton, USC is 18-1 in the NCAA tournament. Last year, the Trojans went 1-1, defeating North Florida in the Round of 16 before losing to Loyola Marymount in the quarterfinals.
The Trojans most recently competed in the MPSF Championship, losing in the semifinals to the eventual champion Texas. USC finished the regular season and conference tournament with an overall record of 28-11.
