Trojan student-athletes establish new cumulative GPA record; 426 student-athletes earn 3.0 GPA or higher
LOS ANGELES — USC Athletics delivered another record-setting academic performance in Spring 2026, posting an all-time department-best cumulative GPA of 3.277 and a semester GPA of 3.298, marking a new high-water mark in the classroom for Trojan student-athletes.
Excellence was widespread across the department, as 20 of USC's 21 teams finished the spring term with a GPA above 3.0. In total, 426 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 174 Dean's List honorees and 54 Trojans who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"The academic success this spring is a credit to our student-athletes and the support of the entire Trojan Family," said Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics Jennifer Cohen. "Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar academically while competing at the highest level athletically. I'm proud of our student-athletes and grateful to our coaches, our academic services team, our world-class faculty, and our campus partners for ensuring USC remains a place where student-athletes can thrive in competition and in the classroom."
All 12 women's programs surpassed the 3.0 mark for the semester, joined by eight of nine men's programs. Women's Cross Country led all women's teams with a 3.742 term GPA, while Men's Golf posted the highest GPA among men's programs at 3.383.
Several programs reached new academic benchmarks during the spring. Men's Golf, Women's Lacrosse, and Women's Cross Country each set new term GPA records, while Women's Rowing, Women's Water Polo, and Football established new cumulative GPA records. Men's Water Polo set new program highs in both categories.
The spring term also marked one of the most productive graduation cycles in recent memory, with more than 130 Trojans earning their degrees and certificates across both undergraduate and graduate programs.
These achievements build on USC Athletics' continued academic excellence at the national level. Fourteen USC Athletics programs either matched or improved their multiyear Academic Progress Rate scores in 2026, underscoring USC's commitment to developing student-athletes who excel both academically and competitively.
