LOS ANGELES— Less than two years after breaking ground, USC unveiled the Bloom Football Performance Center on Aug. 5, opening a state-of-the-art home for Trojan football where the program's storied tradition meets the sport’s future.
The Trojan football facility is the crown jewel of USC’s Athletics West capital project and allows for the John McKay Center to be reimagined to benefit the entire student-athlete population from all 23 sports.
Spanning more than 160,000 square feet, the Bloom Football Performance Center features two full-length football fields, natural grass and artificial turf, alongside a three-story facility with spaces curated to develop student-athletes, foster team culture and provide USC Football with every resource needed to compete for championships.
“This building is magical,” said USC head coach Lincoln Riley. “To come in here for the first time was powerful. It's a significant step for our program.”
The lobby of the Bloom Football Performance Center was intentionally designed as a welcoming public space for the Trojan Family. Each day, it invites fans inside to experience the rich history of USC Football.
The space showcases a gold Pro Football Hall of Fame jacket, USC's 11 national championships and an NCAA-record eight Heisman Trophies, alongside displays honoring the program's individual college football award winners. Every detail celebrates the excellence that has defined Trojan football while reinforcing the team-first culture that will shape its future.
For the first time, the full history and legacy of USC Football are united under one roof.

But before a shovel went into the ground or even before the Bloom Football Performance Center was announced, the Trojan Athletic Fund worked tirelessly behind the scenes to secure the philanthropic support that made the project possible.
More than $200 million was raised to fund the construction of the facility, headlined by a generous $50 million gift from the Bloom Family.
While the Bloom Football Performance Center is now open and serving Trojan student-athletes, the Trojan Athletic Fund continues its fundraising efforts to fully realize the vision behind the transformative project, with approximately $20 million still to be raised.
The Bloom Football Performance Center is the second-largest capital project in USC Athletics history, surpassed only by the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum's $315 million renovation.
“None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors, supporters and alumni who are truly invested in the future of this program,” said Brent Watson, USC Associate Athletic Director from the Trojan Athletic Fund.
That nine-figure fundraising effort is evident from the moment the student-athletes step inside the building, where every detail reflects the transformational investment made in USC Football.

Every square foot of the facility is intentionally designed to reinforce the championship standard that defines the program.
The facility's first floor focuses completely on player experience and development. It demonstrates USC’s investment in its student-athletes. Here is home of a best-in-class locker room, a players’ lounge with a barber shop and dedicated spaces for sports medicine, nutrition, hydrotherapy and equipment. Also housed on the first floor is a massive weight room featuring garage-style doors with direct access to the field, floor to ceiling windows allowing natural light and custom Nike Strength weight racks, with USC being the first collegiate program to have this Nike equipment.
The second floor is dedicated to game preparation, player development and team connection, featuring a collection of modern meeting and collaborative spaces. Position meeting rooms are complemented by a creative media suite with two production studios and a podcast studio, giving student-athletes the resources to build their brand off the field.
Anchoring the floor is a theater-style team meeting room equipped with immersive surround sound for film study, presentations and team gatherings. Just inside, a display celebrating USC Football's national championships is the first thing players see upon entering. It’s a daily reminder of the program's storied tradition and an inspiration to become the next team to earn its place on the wall.
Also on the second floor is a walk-through room, one of the fastest-growing trends in collegiate and professional football. A 45-foot screen serves as the centerpiece of the walkthrough room, allowing players to get mental reps that translate directly to the field. The room is also an asset as presentation-ready space. It will be used to host various campus events without disrupting the football team.
Recovery and keeping players healthy through a 16-game season was a top priority for the new facility. A designated recovery suite is available to the players featuring float beds, infrared therapy beds, sleep pods, AI-powered massage chairs from Japan and zero-gravity chairs.
“The recovery for the players in this building is off the charts,” said Riley. “It’s so important. The ability we have from the number of people we can recover via all different types of modalities at the same time is exponentially greater than anything we’ve ever had before. The recovery technology we have not only gets us ahead of where we were at, but it puts us ahead of just about any athletic facility out there.”
The third floor houses the coaches' offices, a dedicated front office suite and thoughtfully designed staff gathering spaces that foster a collaborative, family-oriented environment where coaches and staff can feel at home.
Finally, the third floor of Bloom features a picturesque terrace that overlooks the practice field, offering a panoramic view of Los Angeles ranging from Downtown LA to the Hollywood sign. A basketball court, pickleball court, big-screen video board and kitchen area provide players and staff with inviting spaces to unwind, build relationships and strengthen the family atmosphere that defines the program.
The Bloom Football Performance Center is one of several transformative projects taking shape in Athletics West. A new USC baseball stadium and a dedicated golf practice facility are also nearing completion, further elevating the university's world-class athletic infrastructure. Together, these investments underscore USC Athletics' unwavering commitment to providing its student-athletes with championship-caliber resources as every program pursues national titles.
