THIS SEASON: Daniel Cukierman is in his fourth season at USC.
2019-20: Cukierman was ranked No. 1 in the nation and held a 26-2 overall singles record with a seven-match win streak when competition was cancelled in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic... Was 11-1 in dual-match play, going 4-0 at No. 1 and 7-1 at No. 2... Had the match-clinching victory in five USC wins, including twice at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships — vs. TCU in the Round of 16 and vs. Michigan in the semifinals... Named to the ITA National Team Indoor All-Tournament Team at the No. 2 singles position and at the No. 1 doubles spot... Named the UTR/ITA Player of the Week after helping USC to the ITA National Team Indoor championship... Earned ITA All-America honors in singles and doubles... Twice honored at Pac-12 Player of the Week (Jan. 21 and Feb. 18)... Also won the Sherwood Cup singles title... In doubles, Cukierman was ranked No. 5 in the nation with Riley Smith... Had gone 17-3 overall in doubles with a 9-1 mark in dual matches... Went 10-1 with Smith... Also paired with Mor Bulis (6-2) and Stefan Dostanic (1-0)... In the fall, won the Oracle ITA Masters championship... Also reached the ITA Southwest Regional singles semifinals and the doubles final with Bulis.
2018-19: Cukierman finished his sophomore season ranked No. 21 in the nation in singles... Earned his highest career singles (No. 4) and doubles (No. 21) rankings on Feb. 6, 2019... Named to All-Pac-12 First Team... Also earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention... Led team in singles wins with a 34-11 overall record... Reached the NCAA Singles Round of 32... Went 17-6 overall in dual-match singles, going 15-6 at the No. 2 position... Clinched three matches... In doubles, went 26-11 overall and 16-7 in dual matches... Paired with Tanner Smith, went 19-8 overall and 11-5 in dual matches, with a 10-5 mark at the No. 3 posiiton and 1-0 at No. 2... Also paired with Bradley Frye (2-1), Jack Jaede (3-1) and Riley Smith (2-1)... In the fall, went 16-4 in singles play... Reached the singles final at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships... Won the Oracle ITA National Fall Singles Championship... Opened the fall ranked No. 40 in doubles.
2017-18: Cukierman finished his first season at USC with All-Pac-12 Second Team honors... Finished the year ranked No. 62 in the nation in singles — his highest rank of the season... Went 16-5 overall and in dual-match singles play... Played at the No. 1 (1-0) and No. 2 (15-5)positions... Led the team in clinching seven matches... Went 3-0 in singles at the No. 2 position and 2-0 in doubles at No. 3 with Tanner Smith during the NCAA Team Tournament... Also went 3-0 with Smith at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, named to the All-Tournament Team at No. 3 doubles... Overall in doubles, went 15-4, going 12-4 in dual matches — all with Smith... Went 3-0 at No. 2 and 9-4 at No. 3 with Smith.
HIGH SCHOOL: Cukierman won Israel’s doubles title... Highest ATP world ranking was No. 525 in singles... Reached the singles finals at the 2016 Greece F9 Futures, the 2016 Israel F14 Futures and F13 Futures... Reached the doubles final at the 2016 Israel F15 Futures... Played for Israel at the 2017 Davis Cup.
PERSONAL: Daniel Cukierman was born Sept. 7, 1995 in Tel Aviv, Israel... Parents are Galia and Edouard... Has two brothers, Michael and Ariel... Served in the Israeli Army before coming to USC... Has always wanted to go bungee jumping... Hopes to travel to Zanzibar... Would like to play professional tennis after graduation... Majoring in real estate development..
