USC Men's Gymnastics National Champions
1962 Champions
USC’s only NCAA team championship in men’s gymnastics came in 1962. Led by head coach Jack Beckner, a 3-time Olympian who was the 1952 NCAA all-around champ while at USC, the Trojans defeated runner-up Southern Illinois by 20.5 points. Senior Robert Lynn became the second USC gymnast to win the all-around title (he also that year won the NCAA floor exercise, parallel bars and horizontal bar).
