Travis Taylor

Travis Taylor enters his first year as USC’s Director of Player Engagement. In his role, Taylor interacts and communicates daily with football student-athletes, serving as a mentor and advocate. He is directly responsible for onboarding incoming student-athletes, overseeing housing, and serving as the team’s liaison to academic services.
Taylor has eight years of experience in collegiate football operations, having served as Director of Football Operations at Georgia Southern in 2016, assistant Director of Operations at Western Kentucky for two seasons, and five seasons at Alabama Birmingham, including three as Assistant Director of Operations and the final two as Director of Operations.
Taylor played football at Valdosta State from 2004-07 and was a three-year starter for the Blazers at wide receiver. He was a part of the 2004 and 2007 Valdosta State teams that captured the NCAA Division II national championship. While at Valdosta State, Taylor played under head coaches Chris Hatcher and David Dean.
A native of Unadilla, Ga., Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Valdosta State in 2008 and earned a master’s degree in higher education with an emphasis in educational leadership from Valdosta State in 2009.
