Cecilia Snipes enters her fourth season as the associate athletic director for equipment operations at USC, the only female to hold a position of this nature at a school in the Power 4.
Before joining the Trojans, Cecilia spent three years at UCLA (2019–2022) in a similar role, overseeing all aspects of equipment operations. She led the department’s transition from Under Armour to Jordan/Nike, managing the process with confidentiality and ensuring compliance with brand standards and team identity guidelines across the board. She also implemented the department’s first-ever inventory system, significantly reducing costs by streamlining the management of apparel and equipment.
From 2017 to 2019, she served as senior director of equipment operations at UCLA, providing strategic oversight and resource management for the equipment staff supporting all 25 athletic programs and administrative areas. In honor of the university’s centennial celebration, Cecilia designed custom uniforms for all 25 teams, marking the historic milestone with distinctive, commemorative designs.
Cecilia served as the director of equipment operations for football at Temple University from 2014 to 2017, overseeing equipment procurement, organization, distribution, maintenance, and disposal for 17 varsity athletic programs and their staff. She led the successful design and renovation of the Olympic Sports equipment room and played a key role in streamlining the department’s partnership with Under Armor—eliminating third-party vendors and establishing a direct ordering system. She also launched Temple’s first-ever “spring sale,” with proceeds helping to offset equipment costs. Cecilia spent a year as Assistant Director of Equipment and Event Management (2013–2014), where she combined equipment operations with event management to lead the department with an integrated approach.
For seven years, she served in two roles for Arizona State: equipment operations coordinator and assistant coordinator for equipment operations (2006-2013).
She began her career as the athletic equipment manager at UCLA (2005-2006) and received her certification in the A.E.M.A. in 2007.
Snipes received her master’s degree in Sports Administration from Northern Colorado and earned her bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Alabama A&M.
