Amanda Decker is in her second season as the Director of Internal Operations. She oversees the day-to-day activities of the team, including team travel, equipment, communications, social media, and home meet management.
She came to USC after two seasons as the director of operations for the Michigan men’s and women’s track and field/XC programs. She oversaw the daily operations of the program, including team travel, recruiting, equipment, and home meet management.
Decker has been a certified official at the national and high school level. She has worked dozens of high school meets and served as an official at the 2015 and 2016 USATF Junior Olympics and the 2015 USATF Cross Country Junior Olympics.
Prior to her work at Michigan, she spent four years working for the Eastern Michigan University Foundation in several roles. In her last role, she served as the communications and graphic design manager and was responsible for driving the Foundation’s brand to ensure consistent visual representation and oversaw all creative materials for the organization. She also managed the Foundation’s first single-day fundraiser, raising more than $133,000 on Giving Tuesday in 2013.
Decker got her start at Eastern Michigan as a graduate student from 2007-09, where she earned her master's degree in sport management. She was a graduate assistant sports information director, where she was the primary media contact for eight of the Eagles' 21 sports, including track and field.
Decker graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management with an emphasis in sport communication from Bowling Green State University in 2007. She served as a team manager for the men's and women's cross country and women's track and field teams, assisting with the day-to-day activities of the programs.
Decker lives in Los Angeles.
