2025 (Track and Field): Competed in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400 relay…Ran a season-best in the 400m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 7) with a time of 53.83…Finished first in the 400m at the Trojan Invite (Mar. 22) and USC-UCLA Dual Meet (May 4)…Ran the 200m in 24.77 at the LSU Battle on the Bayou (Mar. 29)...Helped secure the Big Ten Championship title for the Trojan women with a first place finish in the 4x400 relay…Recorded a season-best time of 3:26.01 as part of the third-place 4x400 relay team at the NCAA Championships.
2024 (Track and Field): Recorded a season-best 400m time of 53.42 to place seventh at the Florida Relays on March 30...Placed ninth in the 400m at the Pac-12 Championships and advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in the event...Took third in the 400m with a time of 53.67 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28...Competed in four indoor meets, running the 400m in each one and posted a season-best time of 54.57 at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet on Jan. 24.
2023 (Track and Field): Did not compete due to injury during the outdoor season until the Pac-12 Championships, when she ran 55.78 to place 14th in the 400m on May 13...Competed in three meets during the indoor season...Ran an indoor PR of 54.18 to place 10th at the New Mexico Classic on Feb. 4.
PERSONAL: Takiya was born August 3, 2004 in Fresno, Cali…Her parents are Melissa and Rich Carter, and is one of three siblings with Taya and Beckham… She enjoys reading in her free time…Lists USA Gold Medalist and fellow Trojan Allyson Felix as her biggest sports heroine…Aspires to work at ESPN in sports broadcasting… She is majoring in Communication.
