Cole Mears joined the SAAS staff in August of 2020 as a Graduate Assistant for Academic Advising. In
August of 2021, he was hired full-time and now supports Women’s Crew, Women’s Golf, and Men’s
Golf.
Cole transferred from College of the Canyons to the University of California, San Diego where he earned
his bachelor’s in Communications with a minor in Business. During his time at UCSD, Cole was a Javelin
thrower for the track and field team.
After his time at UCSD, he spent a year volunteering in the Athletic Department as a Student
Development Intern. Cole then spent 2020 as an Academic Mentor at UCLA before earning his master’s
in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs at USC in 2021.
Cole was born and raised in Southern California just outside of Los Angeles. He loves discussing the
latest Marvel film/series that has been released or spending time with friends/family.
