Omar El Kheshen

Omar El Kheshen was named the USC women's tennis assistant coach on July 20, 2026, following an impressive coaching career across the professional and collegiate ranks.
With more than a decade of experience, El Kheshen has helped develop Grand Slam champions, WTA Tour professionals and NCAA All-Americans, bringing a wealth of player development expertise to the Trojans.
Most recently, El Kheshen served as the touring coach for former world No. 36 Yuan Yue, overseeing training plans, match preparation and performance analysis on the WTA Tour. He also worked with former U.S. Open champion and world No. 3 Sloane Stephens, collaborating with a full performance team to prepare for competition at the highest level of professional tennis. In addition, he serves as academy director at the Brian Dabul Academy in Glendale, Calif., where he leads player development and academy operations.
Before returning to the professional circuit, El Kheshen spent four seasons coaching in the collegiate ranks. At Tufts, he helped guide the Jumbos to a 22-0 start, an appearance in the NCAA Division III championship match, an NCAA singles title and three All-America selections. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at Harvard, contributing to one of the nation's top recruiting classes and the Crimson's rise in the national rankings. He also served as associate head coach for the men's and women's programs at Southwest Baptist, helping the men's team reach the NCAA Elite Eight while earning ITA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year honors in 2018.
A native of Egypt, El Kheshen began his coaching career at Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Calif., where he developed elite junior players and helped numerous student-athletes advance to NCAA Division I programs.
He earned both his bachelor's degree in marketing and master's degree in athletic activity administration from Southwest Baptist University and holds multiple professional coaching certifications, including Global Professional Tennis Coach Association Level B certification.
