SUISUN, Calif. - Jordan Hewko scored three straight goals in a six-goal rally that lifted the No. 1 USC men's water polo team to a 14-6 victory over No. 20 UC Davis on Friday at Solano College.
USC (13-1) won its eighth in a row. UC Davis fell to 7-15.
Improving on a 6-2 halftime lead, goals by James Castle and Johnathon Hewko came in the opening minutes of the third quarter for the Trojans. Jordan Hewko then scored three straight goals in a two-minute stretch and Castle ended the rally with 17 seconds left in the quarter, staking USC to a 12-2 edge.
Jordan Hewko finished with four goals, while Johnathon Hewko and Castle had three each. Richard McEvoy made seven saves for the Trojans.
USC plays at Pacific on Saturday at noon in an MPSF match.
