Basso Named All-American First Teamer

LOS ANGELES - Five USC men's water polo players were named All-Americans, led by first teamer Allen Basso, the American Water Polo Coaches Association announced last week.

Basso, a senior driver, led the Trojans in scoring with 51 points, doubling his previous career high. He earned All-American honorable mention notice in 1998.

Senior goalie Richard McEvoy made the second team (he earned All-American honors for the third time). Senior 2-meter man Peter Janov and junior driver George Csaszar made the third team, and sophomore utility Ivan Babic earned honorable mention.

The 1999 Trojans finished with a 22-5 overall record, 6-2 in the MPSF.
