Vavic, Orwig Earn MPSF Water Polo Honors

LOS ANGELES - USC women's water polo coach Jovan Vavic was named the 1999 MPSF Coach of the Year and senior goalie Bernice Orwig was named the conference's Co-Player of the Year on Monday.

Orwig shared the honor with Cal's Colette Glinkowski.

Orwig was joined on the All-MPSF first team by freshman UT Aniko Pelle and sophomore 2M Jennifer Durley.

Freshman UT Sandra Milicev and freshman 2M Nina Wengst made the honorable mention team.

USC is 24-2 overall, won the MPSF regular season with an 8-1 mark but finished second at the conference tournament. The Women of Troy next play at the Southern California Regional Tournament, held at UC San Diego on April 23-25.
