USC will host two baseball camps for players ages 8 to 18 at USC's historic Dedeaux Field -- the Pitching & Catching Camp on Saturday (Oct. 21) and the Hitting Camp on Saturday (Nov. 4) and Sunday (Nov. 5) with two sessions under the instruction of the Trojan baseball coaching staff.
The Pitching & Catching Camp, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature mini clinics, demonstrations and group participation. The fee for this camp will be $95. Campers are asked to bring a hat, cleats, glove and catching gear (for catchers only).
The Hitting Camp, with the first session on both days taking place from 9 a.m. to noon and the second session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., will feature mini clinics, demonstrations, a video evaluation and group participation. The fee for the Hitting Camp will be $120. Campers are asked to bring a hat, cleats, personal bat, glove and batting glove for the camp.
The staff includes USC Head Coach Mike Gillespie, who this summer guided the USA National Team to a 27-3-1 record and the best winning percentage (.900) in team history. He also led the Trojans to the 1998 national championship, the 12th in school history. USC assistant coaches Andy Nieto and Dave Lawn will also be part of the camp staff, along with additional highly respected coaches and scouts.
Please note that not all applications are accepted because the camp will keep a balanced ratio of players at every position and in every age group so try to enroll as soon as possible.
For additional information for the camps, please contact (213) 740-5762 (days) or (323) 278-1225 (evenings).
