USC Women's Golf Finishes Fourth At NCAAs

Sunriver, Ore. - With half of the field yet to finish their rounds on Saturday, the USC women's golf team clinched a fourth-place finish at the 2000 NCAA Women's Golf Championships held at Crosswater Golf Course in Sunriver, Ore., this past Wednesday-Saturday (May 24-27).
Though hampered by periodic downpours and windgusts in excess of 25 mph, the Women of Troy managed to shoot 306 (+18)in the final round to finish behind team champion Arizona, runnerup Stanford and third place Texas. It's the best NCAA finish for USC since placing second in 1993.
Sophomore Leila Chartrand led all Trojan golfers with a 295 total, including a 76 on Saturday. Freshman Candie Kung also shot 76 and finished with 298.
