USC Head Coach Chris Gobrecht:
"I think we're a tough match-up for them. But both teams played their backsides off on defense. There was a lot of missed layups, so credit the defenses for making all the players struggle."
"I'm very proud of the way they stayed in the game. We played some awfully good defense and we just hung in there, and if we can do that we can win some games."
"We knew we needed to get to the point where we stay focused. I think this was the first time we were able to stay focused and get things done."
"We were a little quicker getting to the ball. They close things off so quickly, and they really keep you second-guessing, that's why we had so many turnovers."
"We're getting better, we're playing five freshman a lot, and we have lot's to work on but we're definitely getting better. I felt all along that if we developed the maturity, we'd be fine."
Oregon Head Coach Jody Runge:
"There was certainly a lot of fouling going on out there, but we weren't very mentally tough about that. I think that really hurt our offense, kids were standing around and we couldn't get into the flow."
"They got in our heads offensively. I had kids changing their shots. I had guards loopty-looing to the basket instead of shooting if off the glass."
"Offensively, they got into our heads where we couldn't make a free throw. We shot ourselves in the foot when we had the opportunities."
Oregon Guard Lindsey Dion:
"We have faced a lot of adversity, but we're a pretty resilient bunch and I think we'll be ready to come out and play on Saturday."
"We didn't come out ready to play from the start -- it was a cat fight -- and we came out on the losing end of the stick."
Oregon Forward Brianne Meharry:
"This was extremely frustrating, especially after the loss to (Washington State). I take a lot on my shoulders. We had four chances to get it done and we didn't. You must give credit to USC, they came out and made the big plays."
