Basketball Signs One To Letter Of Intent

Los Angeles, Calif. -- Meghan Gnekow of Santa Ynez (Calif.) County Union High has signed a letter-of-intent with the USC women's basketball team, head coach Chris Gobrecht announced today. The letter was signed on Dec. 3, 2001 - the final day of the signing period.
Gnekow, a 5-foot-11 forward from Buelton, Calif., was named 2001 Santa Barbara County Player of the Year as a junior after averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds a game for the Pirates. She also earned Street & Smith All-America honorable mention honors and All-CIF Division 3AA first team accolades in 2001. Gnekow was a 2001 Nike All-America Camp invitee.
