
Women Of Troy Finish Third At Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 3 USC women's water polo team earned third place at the 2003 Stanford Tournament by defeating California in the bronze medal match, 9-3. The keepers combined for 21 saves during the game, but the offense was relentless. Despite an early 2-1 Golden Bear lead, USC scored seven straight goals to give themselves an 8-2 lead. Katrin Dierolf led the USC scoring drive with four goals, including a penalty score.
USC will continue Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play next weekend with a home match against San Diego State on Saturday (Feb. 15) at 10 a.m. at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
