STANFORD, Calif. -- UCLA may have ended the USC women's water polo team's post-season hopes Saturday with a 7-6 sudden-victory overtime win in MPSF Championship semifinal action at Stanford. Lauren Wenger led the Women of Troy with two goals in a losing effort as USC needed to reach the championship final for at least a possibility at an at-large berth for the NCAA Championship in two weeks.
With the win, UCLA also wins the season series against USC by a 3-1 margin to earn all five points towards the Lexus Gauntlet. UCLA will face Stanford in the final tomorrow after the Cardinal defeated Long Beach State, 9-1.
