Trojans Earn Third-Place Finish At Nor-Cal Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif. -- Thomas Hale scored a team-high four goals Sunday as the No. 2 USC Trojans defeated the No. 3 Cal Golden Bears, 14-10, in the third place match at the 2004 Nor-Cal Tournament. The Trojans scored five goals in the second and third quarters to pull away from the Golden Bears.
USC lost to UCLA, 8-6, earlier in the day as the Bruins went on to win the tournament with a 10-9 overtime victory over No. 1 Stanford in the championship match.
USC and Cal will meet again in an MPSF match on Saturday (Oct. 9) at 10 a.m. at McDonald's Swim Stadium, prior to the 12:30 p.m. football game between No. 1 USC and No. 7 Cal at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Odd games are located at the University of the Pacific, while even games are located at Delta College on the second day.
