LOS ANGELES - Junior Juraj Zatovic and senior James Shin scored two goals each Saturday as the No. 3 USC Trojans defeated the No. 4 California Golden Bears, 9-7, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's water polo action at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
Sophomore goalie Don Ricci recorded six saves for the Trojans.
With the score 3-3 in the second period, freshman Jordan Van Norman put the Trojans ahead for good with 17 seconds left. The Golden Bears cut the deficit to 7-6 in the fourth, but USC pulled away on goals by Cameron Kaiser and Shin.
Andrija Vasiljevic led both teams with three goals for Cal in the match.
USC will host No. 17 Bucknell tomorrow at 11 a.m. at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
