Former Trojan Bret Boone Wins Fourth Gold Glove Award

LOS ANGELES -- Former Trojan and current Seattle Mariner second baseman Bret Boone earned his fourth overall and third straight Gold Glove as American League winners were announced today. Boone committed 14 errors during the 2004 season, outdistancing the rest of the league at his position.
Boone batted .251 this season with 24 home runs and 83 RBI for the Mariners. He made his debut in 1992 with Seattle with stops at Cincinnati, Atlanta and San Diego before returning to the Emerald City in 2001.
During his three-year career at USC (1988-90), Boone batted .304 (209-for-688) with 29 home runs and 160 RBI.
