Two Trojans Earn Player Of The Week Honors

LOS ANGELES -- Sophomore goalie Don Ricci and junior two-meter defender Juraj Zatovic were named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation/Mikasa Co-Players of the Week after leading No. 2 USC (6-0) to the 2004 So-Cal Tournament championship last weekend.
Ricci registered 34 saves in three matches, including 12 in the Trojans' 8-6 win against No. 1 Stanford in the title match and 15 against No. 4 Cal in the championship semifinal.
Zatovic scored 12 goals in four matches, including a team-high four in the title match against Stanford. He scored the only two goals for both teams in the fourth quarter to break a 6-6 tie. Zatovic also scored four goals in the semifinal against Cal.
The Trojans travel to UC Santa Cruz on Friday (Sept. 24) for a 4 p.m. nonconference match before taking on No. 1 Stanford in an MPSF match on Saturday (Sept. 25) at 1 p.m.
