USC's Amy Rodriguez Named NSCAA/adidas All-American

USC freshman forward Amy Rodriguez has been honored with another 2005 collegiate award with her selection to the 2005 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I All-America Third Team. Rodriguez is just one of two freshmen to receive All-American recognition this season, and she is the first Trojan to be named All-American since Isabelle Harvey in 2000. Rodriguez is the only USC freshman ever to receive the honor.
Rodriguez (Lake Forest, Calif./Santa Margarita HS) entered USC this season as the nation's top recruit and helped power the Women of Troy to a 13-6-2 overall record and into the NCAA Second Round. She finished as the Trojans' leading scorer with nine goals and 25 points on the season. Rodriguez now ranks in the all-time top 10 at USC for game-winning goals (4), single-season goals (9) and single-season points (25).
Rodriguez now joins just three other USC players who have been named NSCAA All-Americans: Rhiannon Tanaka (1994 Second Team), Kim Clark (1997 and 1998 Third Team) and Isabelle Harvey (1999 and 2000 Third Team).
