Lindsey Nelson Falls In NCAA Singles Round Of 16

No. 16-ranked USC freshman Lindsey Nelson was upset by No. 67 Marianna Yuferova of VCU, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the Round of 16 of the 2005 NCAA Women's Division I Tennis Singles Championships at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex on Wednesday (May 25).
Nelson, an All-American and All-Pac-10 first team selection in 2005, ended her season with a 35-8 overall singles record.
She was the only Trojan remaining in the NCAA Women's Singles and Doubles competition.
