Felibert's 72 Leads USC At Topy Cup

Senior Veronica Felibert fired a second-round 72 and is one shot off the lead as she paces second-place USC to a two-day 601 after 36 holes of the Topy Cup at the Tanagura C.C. in Fukushima-ken, Japan, on Wednesday (Sept. 6).
Felibert followed her opening round 75 with a par 72 for a 147 (+3), one shot back of four players tied at 146. She posted a pair of 36s on both the front and back nine with a birdie and bogey in both. Her 72 was just one off her season-best 71 from her junior year.
USC is three shots behind first-place Stanford (598) while Chukyo Gakuin (607), Tohoku Fukushi (608) and Nagoya Commerce (613) trail behind.
Sophomore Paola Moreno is in 14th with a 151 (+7) after a second-round 76. Senior Catalina Marin turned in her second straight 75 for a 152 (+8), tied for 15th, while junior Dewi-Claire Schreefel and freshman Caroline Kim are tied for 18th at 154 (+10).
Play concludes Thursday (Sept. 7) with 18 holes.
