USC seniors Tommy Corcoran and Adam Shilling have rounded out their Trojan water polo careers as three-time All-Americans, as Corcoran has been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America First Team, and Shilling is an All-America Second Team selection. The seniors led the Trojans to a third straight appearance in the NCAA final, and are joined by four other USC teammates on the ACWPC All-America lists for 2007. Sophomore Matt Sagehorn joins Shilling on the Second Team for his first career All-America honor; sophomore J.W. Krumpholz has been tabbed an All-American for the second straight season, earning a spot on the All-America Third Team. Sophomore Shea Buckner and senior Gabor Sarusi both received All-America Honorable Mention.
Earning his first selection to the All-America First Team, senior two-meter man Tommy Corcoran has been a Second Team selection the last two seasons. In his senior year, Corcoran was USC's third leading scorer with 21 goals, and was responsible for countless earned exclusions and 5-meter shots for the Trojans. Corcoran served up 90 career goals for USC while at Troy. He was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament First Team, and was an All-MPSF First Team selection as well.
A first-team selection in 2005, goalie Adam Shilling has now been named a second team All-American the past two seasons, as he finishes his USC career as the Trojans' No. 6 all-time goalie with 523 career saves. He helped anchor USC as the No. 1 defensive team in the nation for the third straight season, as the Trojans led all teams with just 5.8 goals allowed per game. Shilling tallied 160 saves for USC in his season season, and was the MPSF's top goalie with 5.73 goals-against per game. He was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Second Team, and was named to the All-MPSF First Team.
Alongside Shilling on the ACWPC All-America Second Team is first-time selection Matt Sagehorn. The sophomore driver came up big for the Trojans in 2007, rocketing in a team-high 38 goals, including an 11-game streak of multiple-goal games. Sagehorn was named to the NCAA All-Tournament First Team and was also tabbed to the All-MPSF First Team.
Coming in with his second All-America honors of his Trojan career is sophomore two-meter man J.W. Krumpholz, who was an honorable mention recipient as a freshman and served up 20 goals for the Trojans in 2007. He was honored as an NCAA All-Tournament First Team pick, and was named to the All-MPSF Third Team this season
On the All-American Honorable Mention are two more members of the 2007 NCAA All-Tournament Second Team. In his first season playing as a Trojan, sophomore two-meter Shea Buckner was USC's top scorer for much of the season, and finished as the Trojans' No. 2 leading scorer with 24 goals. Buckner earned All-MPSF Honorable Mention this season. He is joined on the All-American Honorable Mention list by senior two-meter Gabor Sarusi, who had many big games for the Trojans in his final year at Troy. Sarusi pumped in 17 goals in his senior year, and picked up honors on the All-MPSF Second Team.
USC went 19-3 overall this season, claiming the MPSF Tournament Championship and reaching the NCAA final for the third straight season. USC was topped by Cal in the championship game.
