USC sophomore forward Christina Marinacci registered the first double-double of her career last night on the basketball court as the Women of Troy beat No. 22 Gonzaga. Tonight, she makes her on-air debut as a color commentator for women's volleyball. Marinacci, a communications major, will take her high school volleyball experience and familiarity with her fellow Women of Troy to the airwaves as she lines up on press row as an announcer for the usctrojans.com broadcast of the USC women's volleyball match vs. Arizona State.
"I'm excited because it's something I've wanted to do in combining media and sports," Marinacci said of her broadcast debut tonight. "I'm also nervous because it's my first time and I heard that everyone is awful at first! But it's an opportunity I want to take to get the experience. I played volleyball all four years in high school, so I'm excited to see how it goes!"
After tonight's broadcast premiere, Marinacci rejoins her basketball teammates for the Trojans' trip to Duke. USC will face the Blue Devils in a 7 p.m. ET game on Monday (Nov. 15) in Durham, N.C.
