RALEIGH- Briana Gilbreath went over the 20 point mark for the second straight game as her 23 points led the Women of Troy to a 84-75 win over North Carolina State on Sunday afternoon.
Jacki Gemelos added 18 points and Ashley Corral had 17 points as well as the Trojans improved to 5-3 on the season.
Brittany Strachan had 22 points with six three-pointers for North Carolina State (4-5) in the loss.
USC came out hot in the first half as they shot 62.1 percent from the field and were 5 for 8 from three-point range. Gilbreath was a perfect 6 for 6 from the field with 15 points as the Trojans led by as many as 16 in the first half and held a commanding 42-28 lead at halftime.
The Wolfpack got off to a 20-9 run to start the second half and cut the lead to two points with 8:32 left on the clock but the Trojans never surrendered the lead.
Gemelos and Corral went 3 for 3 from behind the arc in the final 4:51 to pull away and seal the win for USC.
