Former USC golfer Jennifer Song, a two-time All-American as a Trojan, won her second FUTURES TOUR event on Sunday, claiming the Greater Richmond (Va.) Golf Classic and moving into fourth place on the tour's money list with one event remaining on the schedule.
The top 10 players on the Futures Tour money list will earn 2011 LPGA Tour cards.
Song won a two-hole playoff over Jenny Shin to earn the $14,000 winner's check and move from ninth to fourth on the Futures Tour money list. The final tour event is the Price Chopper Tour Championships, set for Sept. 3-5 in Albany, N.Y.
Song won the playoff thanks to a 20-foot uphill birdie putt, which followed a 6-under 66 final round.
"I feel so relieved," said Song, 20, of Ann Arbor, Mich. "I usually don't make fist pumps, but I've wanted this win for quite a while. There was definitely a lot of pressure and I definitely was shaking a lot out there."
This week, Song will play in the LPGA's Safeway Classic in Portland, Ore., as one of the event's exemptions.
